Working with a contractor to design and develop the perfect space in any home can be a challenge -- especially when the home is more than a century in age. There really is "chemistry" when it comes to selecting a team to be present in your home for up to 6-weeks at a time and Home Redevelopment Solutions doesn't take our client's trust lightly. In the early pre-sales stage of each engagement, we invest the time that is required to understand our client's dreams and goals of any project. We seek to understand the lifestyles of the family involved so that we may place careful consideration into the workflow and use of every space we design. In addition to careful consideration of the bricks and sticks of the structure, a successful HRS Kitchen Refresh engagement must also be built in partnership with the client. Communication and trust is essential. Our goal is to help our clients to sculpt their vision into the form and function of great new spaces while also building lifelong friendship along the way.
Our Process
HRS translates BIG culinary dreams into modernized kitchen designs in a four-phase process. Phase I - the Creative design and contracting stage of a project can take days, weeks, or months depending on the complexity of the project. Once the designs are complete and contracts are signed, we put our plans into practice at the start of Phase-II as demolition gets underway. During this phase which generally takes a few days up to a week, old cabinets, appliances, flooring, and finishes are removed to make way for exciting new features. In Phase III, the development phase, we start putting it all back together. This is the bulk of time spent on most projects as everything from drywall to tile is often reconstructed. Custom cabinetry is assembled onsite while electricians and plumbers work their magic behind the scenes. At the end of every project is the 4th and final phase. Seemingly dragging along while little is getting done, the devil is in the details. The last and final phase may take time to complete while much of the work may be out-of-sight or small (i.e. sealing the grout on the newly installed tile) thus making this phase of a project one of the most under-appreciated and yet most important to complete. Clients are brought in for a final walkthrough during this phase and outstanding items are completed in our sprint to the finish line.
CREATIVE DESIGN & CONTRACTING
Every project has it's own timeline. The same is true for the early creative design and contracting stage. This is when the HRS design team meets with our clients to better understand their BIG dreams and vision for the project. Together, we work with our clients, contractors, and suppliers to layout plans for the entire project.
From designing and selecting cabinets, granite, and tile or other materials for walls, backsplash and floors to discussing and composing the development agreement, HRS has it down to a science when it comes to process, design, creativity, and building friendships too.
Once the designs are complete and contracts are signed, demo day is just around the corner!
DEMOLITION
During the demolition phase of a project, the HRS crew are busy deconstructing the room in prep for its rebuilding. This phase typically ranges from one-to-four days depending on the size and scope of the kitchen or bath we're removing. Debris are hauled away and the site is kept as clean as feasibly possible as we begin to prepare for the development phase of the project.
During demo, we use every means possible to contain the dust and protect adjacent areas and structures. Our team will seal off the area, lay down protective padding, and we'll work to remove old construction debris as efficient and clean as possible. Careful consideration is given to every aspect of debris removal from the home and away from the worksite.
DEVELOPMENT
The development phase of every project is when the real magic happens as HRS works with licensed, bonded, and insured sub-contractoring partners to orchestrate the various parts of the kitchen-to-be.
From plumbing, electrical, and HVAC services to drywall, painting, tile, and trim, Home Redevelopment Solutions has it covered! Our one-stop-shop for home improvement projects relies on exceptional partnership with outside contractors, professional project management processes, and constant communications.
Thanks to our 4-phase process we typically complete kitchen refresh packages within 4-6 weeks and bathroom refresh enagements in as little as 10-days from start-to-finsh.
FINISHING AND FINAL WALKTHROUGH
"All good things must come to an end," or so the saying goes. "Too close to the forest to see the trees," is another phrase that sometimes holds true. To ensure every client is 100% satisfied, we'll schedule a final walkthrough as phase four begins to wind down.
During the final walkthrough we'll evaluate the project with the homeowner to insure we've exceeded the planned outcomes for the project. We don't get paid until you're happy as final invoices are never sent until we've reach (or exceed) 100% satisfaction.
